Traditionally dentistry was about "extension for prevention", cavity preps designed by GV Black. The result is a an entire generation who have had their teeth drilled to pieces and filled with big black amalgams. As soon as a drill touches a tooth it is never going to be as strong as it was without decay or fillings. Big fillings are forever breaking or cracking and can be enormously frustrating for the patient. Don't wory, there are modern and permanent solutions to these teeth.
These days we have many tools available to us to "remineralise" or "harden" teeth that show early stages of decay. These can reduce the pain and costs of big problems developing and having to go through invasive dentistry.
We recommend:
Brushing twice daily with a soft toothbrush
Using a fluoride toothpaste
Flossing once per day
Visiting our hygienist twice a year
Seeing your dentist for an annual check up
Following these steps make it very difficult for your teeth to deteriorate.
