All the instruments we use are sterilized by heat and pressure in a modern autoclave. Everything else is single-use and disposable for your protection. All surfaces are wiped with antibacterial and antiviral disinfectants between patients.
We realize cost is an important consideration. To display a fee list would contravene the commerce act, but we will always let you know estimated costs of the treatment.
We do advise regular dental check –ups to keep a healthy mouth. Research has shown that if you visit a dentist regularly it works out to be a lot cheaper than waiting for a problem before attending. Early diagnosis by an expert can get rid of the problem before it becomes one!
A commonly asked question is “do you do teeth whitening?” The answer is yes if we think it is appropriate. In most instances, we provide you with a take-home kit. This involves taking impressions of your teeth to construct special trays with reservoirs to hold the bleaching agent. The material is safe to use, easy to apply and something you can monitor yourself. Results can be spectacular but not all teeth respond the same.
Some temporary sensitivity can be expected but no adverse effects to the tooth pulp have been recorded. We are happy to answer your questions about whitening and help you with your requests.
As general dental practitioners we aim to provide you with excellent dental care within the scope of practice we are trained in. If there are requirements outside this scope, we will suggest a referral to an appropriate specialist who can help you. We have good relationships with a local endodontist (root canal specialist), oral surgeon, oral and maxillofacial surgeon and orthodontist.
Dentures are an option to replace missing teeth. These may be constructed of metal and acrylic or entirely of acrylic. Sometimes for this treatment we involve a local clinical dental technician.
